Don't judge someone unless you are hot stuff yourself. Well...just don't judge.
I wonder what would happen if we focused on people's talents, gifts, and abilities instead of their size? Can you imagine what we could accomplish?
I will never forget a facebook post from a boy who went to my high school. It said, " To the fat girls taking up all my machines in the gym, go eat a doughnut." I have never been much of a confrontational person, but I couldn't let that one slide. If anything, I felt he should be happy for those "fat" girls. He should've been happy that they were trying to do something good for themselves. He should have been encouraging. It's hard enough being a fat girl and having to go to the gym in front of all those people. It's not like you aren't self-conscious enough AS IT IS. It's not like it's a secret you're big. Everyone already knows why you're there! I also made him aware that some people can be big because they have certain medical issues ( hypothyroidism, pre-diabetes, etc.) He messaged me back apologizing for his hurtful words....until a few days later when he uploaded another similar post. Don't judge someone unless you are hot stuff yourself, which he isn't.
One day, that jerk will have daughters. And someday, those daughters will be self-conscious about something (as all girls are) and I hope he remembers those statuses and feels like a colossal asshole.
