Update!

Hey guys! It's been a while :(
I haven't been on here in over a year. A lot has happened in the past year! My husband and I moved into a new apartment, I got another new vet job, Cody became a truck driver, we got a dog, and now I am about to graduate from nursing school!!!

I have been very OFF track when it comes to weight loss. I have actually gained weight. As of Sunday I weighed in at an embarrassing 200.1. On the bright side, I weighed in at a gym that I just joined. I have worked out everyday this week ranging from yoga/Pilates mixed classes, cardio, and weights! I feel great. I weighed yesterday (Wednesday) and have already lost a pound! I'm currently consuming 1200 calories. When I work out I consume more calories to replace the ones I lost. I don't want my body to go into starvation mode...which in turn would store fat. But it all equals out to a nice 1200 cals. I'm not eating anything really special. I'll eat a few carbs before a cardio workout or a protein shake after a workout with weights. It all just depends on what workout I have scheduled for the day. I've cut out cokes completely. I've noticed I don't feel so bloated!

I'll put a picture of my new starting point below. I can't wait until I can post the photos that will one day say "after". My goal is to weigh 145. That would be a 55 pound weight loss! It's definitely attainable, but it is going to take a lot of hard work and dedication. I know I'm ready this time, and I have a great support system cheering me on!

New Beginnings

So much has happened in the last few weeks!
As some of you may know, I've been wanting a job at a vet clinic SOOO badly.

I finally got one!

 I'm working as a veterinary assistant full time at a local animal hospital. I absolutely love my job. I hate not having time to myself or not having much time to cook or clean,but I'll get used to it. That would be with any job.

I work Tuesday through Friday about 10-11 hours a day. The best part is...I've lost 4 pounds in 4 DAYS!!!!!

Walking dogs 2-3 times a day can sure get your exercise in pretty quick. I also get to enjoy the sunshine and spring weather :)

Tasty Alternatives

So I was right. :(
 I've gained 5 pounds. Good news still is that I haven't gained ALL of my weight back. I'm just going to have to lay off the cool ranch Doritos and Girl Scout Tagalogs.

I went to the doctor today and my blood pressure medicine isn't working. As a result, I have to collect my urine for 24 hours and I will get a renal arterial doppler (ultrasound of the arteries that lead to my kidneys) on Tuesday. I was put on 2 new medications that my doctor basically told me would make me feel like s***. Hooray! They believe that since I am so young, there is an underlying cause to my outrageously high BP.





Before I was tempted by chips and cookies... I used some of these as some alternatives. They are delicious!

If you know me at all, you know my love of mayonnaise. Holy cow I love me some mayo. I'm not so obsessed with it that I put it on everything, but I do love a tasty turkey, cheese, and mayonnaise sammich!

This stuff is the bomb.com. It tastes exactly like regular mayo but is slightly thinner and easier to spread. Plus, as you can see,it is half the calories and half the fat of regular mayo.





I absolutely hate diet drinks. The only diet drink that I can tolerate is Diet Mt. Dew, but unfortunately it has the pH of 2. I don't know about you, but I still want my teeth. Dr. Pepper Ten has only 10 measly calories and doesn't have that icky diety aspartame taste. And yes.....it is for WOMEN. If this stuff wasn't so de-lish, I probably wouldn't buy it because of their sexist commercial.






Who doesn't love a caramel apple? This is only 100 calories and is great for a sweet treat after dinner.

Burn 100 Cals

I go to the doctor tomorrow at 1 PM. It pains me to say that I'm pretty sure I've gained weight since the move. I will find out tomorrow for sure. I've been eating a lot of chips at night! Cool ranch doritos are my weakness.
I'm hoping my doctor will change my blood pressure medicine tomorrow. I'm still averaging about 172/112 in the afternoons and evenings. I also think it's making my skin too dry. I've never had dry skin. It's to the point where my face is getting this awful, itchy rash. Ew.

I will update tomorrow on my weight. Fingers crossed that I am the same or have lost! I really hope I didn't gain any. I will also post about a few healthy alternatives I've been trying. :)

Waiting on the Cable Guy

I'm still moving! I never knew it would be such a long, drawn out process. We are almost done, but I still have some
clothes and nick nacs at my parent's house. I don't have a scale at our new place so there's no telling what I weigh right now. I'm hoping I've lost a few LBs because I've been too busy to eat much. I'm also not much of a cook. Hehe. I plan to update more once this whole moving thing is over!
